Crisis intervention

Anyone can find themselves in a situation that exceeds their current coping capacity. A sudden loss, relationship breakdown, conflict, work-related burnout, emotional crisis, experience of violence, or a loss of meaning — these are moments when timely, professional psychological support can make a crucial difference.

Crisis intervention is a short-term, focused form of support aimed at emotional stabilisation, restoring a sense of safety, and helping you regain psychological balance.

During the consultation, the psychologist helps you understand what is happening, identify and name your emotions and thoughts, and explore immediate, realistic next steps. The goal is not long-term therapy, but practical and compassionate support here and now — at a time of intense emotional distress and overwhelm.

How Can Crisis Intervention Help You?

  • A sense of safety and understanding – speaking with a psychologist helps calm intense emotions and organise overwhelming thoughts.

  • Support in decision-making – you receive a professional perspective and guidance on what steps you can take in the immediate future.

  • Clarity about your situation – the psychologist helps you see the difficulty in a broader context and identify appropriate sources of further support, if needed.

  • Short-term, focused care – even one or a few sessions can help restore emotional balance and a sense of stability.

  • Online accessibility – sessions are available from anywhere, in Polish, English, or Spanish

How We Work in Moments of Crisis?

During crisis intervention, we focus on what feels most overwhelming and urgent in the present moment.

Each session lasts up to 50 minutes and may be a single consultation or part of a short series of meetings, depending on the level of support required.

Together, we develop a clear plan for the immediate next steps. If needed, you will also receive guidance regarding further therapy or referral to other appropriate professionals.
